Animal Husbandry

Introduction

District panchayt, Bharuch allotted total twelve veterinary officers in 8 – cattle dispensaries 3 branch cattle dispensaries and 1 – artificial insemination centre out of which 7 posts of veterinary officers have been filled up. Moreover, 25 posts for livestock inspectors have been sanctioned in 25 primary veterinary centres.

Out of which 7 posts for live stock inspectors have been filled up. Moreover intensive poultry component is active in offices at state level in Valiya posts of livestock inspectors have been filled up in other officer at state level at two head offices.

Veterinary dispensaries and primary veterinary centre conduct technical activities like veterinary treatment, camps, oral treatment of worms and extension activities like group meetings, workshops, night meetings with cattle breeders and cattle exhibitions, film shows at village level. Thus, activities of animal husbandry and animal breeding are conducted.

Animal vaccination

Work of disease prevention is undertaken by giving vaccines against various disease according to the planning done in advance in sensitive areas against existing infectious disease.

Animal breeding

Animal breeding is done by castrating calf by biding castrator method animal breeding is done by artificial insemination, animal breeding among desi buffalo is done by selected bull.

Mass veterinary camp

Efforts to increase productivity of animals are undertaken by mass veterinary camp. Reproductive capacity has been increased by giving treatment regarding sexual health by sexual health treatment minicamp. Technical guidance is given to cattle breeders by animal breeding education workshop, information and communication campaign constrict, taluka levels animal husbandry extension workshop. Moreover latest knowledge of animal husbandry is disseminated among cattle breeders by animal exhibition, film show, etc. cattle breeders are encouraged to increase milk production by organizing state level, all India level milk production completion.

Nabard scheme

Under NABARD scheme loan interest assistance is given on basis of 50% for milch cattle cow buffalo unit.Scheduled caste package scheme

Health package assistance scheme

Cattle breeders of scheduled castes are provided medicines worth up to Rs.500 under health package assistance for their animals.Scheme of round wheeled chaff cutterOf animals are given grass fodder after cutting it, the wastage of fodder can be avoided for this purpose cattle breeders of scheduled castes are given assistance up to 50% for round wheeled chaff cutter.

Stable assistance scheme

If animals are kept in pucca stable (movable stable) to eat, the wastage of fodder can be avoided. To fulfill this purpose cattle breeders of scheduled castes are given 50% assistance up to Rs.1000 to Purchase stable.

Govt. unit assistance schem

eCattle breeders of scheduled castes are given 50% assistance (against expenditure of Rs.18,000 on habitation, fodder for goat) up to Rs.18,000 for 10 female govt. + one male govt. unit.
